Overview

This topic introduces the steps for accessing and using eReports for Administrative Systems reporting.

Some things to consider before you access eReports include:

  • Before connecting to eReports you should verify that your browser is correctly configured.
    • Adjust Pop-up Blocker settings to allow pop-ups from erp.ohio-state.edu.
    • Add erp.ohio-state.edu to your Trusted Sites.
    • Adjust security settings for Trusted Sites.

  • Access eReports at http://ereports.osu.edu.
  • The recommended web browsers are Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox.
  • Mac users access eReports using Citrix. For additional information, see the Configuring Citrix ICA for Mac OS X help page.
  • Access eReports using your Ohio State username and password (formerly Kerberos ID).
  • Only your Fiscal Officer or their designee can request access to eReports.
  • Budget, General Ledger, Grants, Human Resources, and Procurements reports are available on eReports.
  • Access to each type of report depends on your security access to eReports .
  • Always click the Log Off button in the Workspace toolbar at the top of the page to leave eReports.

Steps

1. Access the eReports home page.

a. Open your Web browser.

b. Type http://ereports.osu.edu in the address field of your Web browser.

c. Click log in.

2. Log in to eReports.

a. Type your Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password.

b. Click the Login button.

3. Confirm you are in the Explore view.

4. Review the Workspace menu at the top of the window.

5. Review the Workspace panes.

The left frame of the Explorer view is called the View Pane. In the View Pane, you are able to navigate the folder structure in eReports. The right frame is called the Content Pane. In the Content Pane, you can navigate the folder structure and access report content.

6. Review sorting content in Workspace.

a. Sort content based on any of the columns displayed in the Content Pane.

b. Click the column title name to sort items in ascending order.

7. Review Workspace tabs.

a. Select previously-accessed content by clicking on its open tab at the bottom of the Workspace.

b. Click the Close button in the Content Pane to close content that is no longer needed, or right-click on the open tab and select Close from the pop-up menu.

8. Set user defaults.

a. Select Show Duplicates from the View menu.

9. Set user defaults.

a. Select Show Columns from the View menu.

b. Check 'Versions,' 'Name,' 'Type,' 'Modified,' 'Size,' and 'Description,' if applicable.

10. Open a file version other than the most recent.

a. Click the Open Document icon in the Workspace menu bar.

b. Navigate to the report item you would like to view in the Open dialog box.

c. Expand the 'Options' list to view the Version list.

d. Select the version of the file you would like to view from the 'Version' list.

e. Click Open.

11. Find the Job Status page.

a. Select Schedule - View Job Status from the Navigate menu.

12. Review the Job Status page.

The top section displays currently running jobs and the bottom section displays a history of reports ran over the past three days.
